The Los Angeles Lakers have had a pretty interesting offseason thus far. Not only have the only signed one of the three free agents they said they were going to in Shannon Brown, but they also somehow were able to upgrade their defense by adding Ron Artest.

Losing Trevor Ariza to the Houston Rockets was a surprise and not one of the best decisions the Lakers have made over the years, but if they can't manage to make Lamar Odom happy with a new contract they will lose him too.

Surprisingly, not many teams have gone after Lamar Odom since he became a free agent this offseason. The Portland Trailblazers showed some interest, but they preferred Hedo Turkoglu or David Lee.

In an interesting turn of events Odom's former team in the Miami Heat have seem dead set on signing the versatile forward.

So if the Lakers want to be the frontrunner in the West again next season they will need to fork up the cash to keep him.
